If you have a question that isn't answered here, feel free to send us an email at contact@swingthestate.org.
Q: When / Where is the event?
The event will be held at Dewitt Clinton Park (53 St. & 11 Ave.). Softball games will run from 1:30 to 6pm. Exact game beginning times are to come.
Q: How many people can play on a team?
Teams will have between 13 - 20 players each. People that register after the maximum of 20 has been reached will be placed on the waiting list. People that have donated their suggested amount will get priority.
Q: I'm not much of a softball player, but I like to play. Should I sign up?
Absolutely! The Progressive Softball Showdown will be newbie friendly, and geared towards folks of all skill levels. Softball veterans are welcome, but should be prepared to play with a range of skill levels.
Q: How will the games work?
There will be 4 games total. Each game will run for 6 innings or an hour, with a short break between games.
Q: What should I bring?
StS will be providing bases, bats, and balls. Players should come with their own gloves, and any other special equipment that they want to use.
Q: What's the deal with this `suggested donation`? Do I have to donate that exact amout to participate?
While the tournament is technically free, for the sake of the progressive causes involved, we ask that you donate what you think is appropriate.
Q: I want to play! I just signed up. Am I done now?
After you sign up, one of the event organizers will contact you to confirm your intent to participate and get you set up. You will not be confirmed to play on a team until an event organizer tells you that you are.
Q: I want to play on the same team as my friends! What do I do?
If someone you know has signed up and you want to play on their team , enter their name in the `additional comments` box when you register. Team planners will try to accomodate all requests.
Q: Will there be referees?
Yes.
